Easy Steps to Recover My Favorites List in MS Edge

Favorites in Microsoft Edge work a little bit differently than they do with other browsers. The most important thing to understand with Edge is that it is not possible to import favorites from an HTML file. However, importing favorites from other browsers is much simpler with Edge than it is with Internet Explorer or other browsers.

As of August 2015, Edge is able to detect favorites from Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer. Edge favorites used the same file structure that was used by Internet Explorer.

  • In the upper right hand corner of the browser select the icon with three lines of varying lengths.
  • From the menu that appears select "Import Favorites"
